In 2006, Mr. Annis started his initial training in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery at Asclepieion Hospital. It was during his residency there that he discovered his passion for spinal surgery. In 2011, Mr. Annis earned the specialty title in Orthopaedics and Trauma surgery. That same year, he returned to Utah for advanced training in spinal surgery. Over the next four years, he focused extensively on spinal training and research, particularly in preventing complications in Adult Spinal Deformity. During this time, he published numerous articles in respected scientific journals, presented his research at international conferences, and contributed to various medical books.
In 2012, his outstanding work earned him the prestigious Russel Hibbs award from the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS). During his time in Utah, he also completed the AO Spine North America research fellowship and a clinical spinal fellowship at the University of Utah. He gained extensive experience in complex spinal surgery, addressing a wide range of spinal problems, including challenging conditions such as 'degenerative scoliosis' and 'fixed sagittal imbalance,' which involve the entire spinal column from the skull to the pelvis.
