At Genesis Clinic, our Rheumatology service provides consultant-led assessment and management of inflammatory, autoimmune, and complex musculoskeletal conditions affecting joints, soft tissues, and connective tissue.​​

WHAT IS RHEUMATOLOGY?

Rheumatology is the medical specialty concerned with conditions that affect:

  • Joints and surrounding soft tissues

  • Autoimmune and inflammatory disorders

  • Connective tissue and systemic inflammatory disease

Symptoms may include persistent joint pain, swelling, stiffness, fatigue, reduced mobility, or unexplained inflammatory markers.

  • Detailed clinical evaluation

  • Review of previous imaging and blood tests

  • Targeted laboratory investigations where appropriate

  • Musculoskeletal ultrasound assessment (when indicated)

  • Coordinated management planning

Our Rheumatology Specialist

Ajay Abraham

Dr Ajay Abraham is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with extensive experience in the assessment and management of inflammatory, autoimmune, and musculoskeletal rheumatological conditions.

He specialises in the evaluation of joint pain, stiffness, swelling, and systemic inflammatory symptoms, using evidence-based, patient-centred approaches focused on accurate diagnosis, disease monitoring, and personalised management planning.
