About

Mr Dimitrios Kapantais is a highly skilled Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon with
subspecialty expertise in eyelid, lacrimal and orbital surgery. Since 2021, he has held a
substantive Oculoplastics Consultant Surgeon post at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation
Trust, Greater Manchester. In this role, he trains residents and an Oculoplastics Fellow, while
also serving as an Honorary Lecturer in Medical Education at the University of Manchester.

After graduating from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, he completed his Ophthalmic
Surgical Training at renowned institutions in Greece including the 1st Department of
Ophthalmology, Aristotle University. Mr Kapantais, subsequently, undertook extensive
subspecialty training in the UK and brings a wealth of experience, having completed three
prestigious specialist Oculoplastics fellowships at King’s College Hospital in London, Royal
Berkshire Hospital in Reading, and Bristol Eye Hospital, specialising in ophthalmic plastic,
lacrimal and orbital surgery.

Mr Kapantais offers a comprehensive range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures,
including:

Oculoplastic surgeries: Upper and lower lid blepharoplasty, ptosis repair, brow lift surgery,
entropion and ectropion correction, eyelid cyst and lesion removal, chalazion and
blepharospasm treatment.

Non-surgical facial rejuvenation: botulinum toxin and dermal filler injections, Sunekos and
chemical peels.

Reconstructive procedures: Eyelid cancer surgery and complex reconstruction, trauma
management, facial palsy reconstruction

Lacrimal surgeries: Lacrimal drainage procedures and dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) for watery

Orbital surgeries: Management of Thyroid Eye Disease, orbital tumour surgery

Member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS), Hellenic Society of Ophthalmic
Plastic Surgery & Reconstructive Surgery (HSOPRS) and Ophthalmologic Society of Northern
Greece

Completed the SkinViva Mastery Programme in Manchester, a leading UK aesthetic programme
on non-surgical facial rejuvenation that includes botulinum toxin and dermal filler treatments,
now part of Harley Academy
